Choose your notifications

Control the activity and connection notices you receive.

Open your profile menu to reach Settings and its notification preferences.

How to do it

  1. Open Settings > Notifications.
  2. Choose your in-product preferences for transactions, connections, import summaries and recurring activity.
  3. Set connection email separately from the in-product notices.
  4. Use the bell to open notices, follow their actions or mark them read.
  5. In Settings > Notifications, turn Budget alerts on or off. An alert fires on posted spending at 80% and 100% of a category’s budget for the current month, in the plan’s timezone. Open an alert to go to that category and month.

If bank update emails are enabled, Nora emails you when the initial sync starts after your bank accounts are saved, then sends a completion email after the full available history is in Nora. Initial imported transactions do not each create a notification.

Having trouble?
  • Transaction and recurring notifications arrive in the product, never by email.
  • Browser-push preferences are reserved for later. Turning one on does not make browser push work yet.
  • If a notice appears late, reopen Nora or refresh. Stored notification history survives a missed live update.
  • Nora checks alerts when your notification inbox refreshes while you use the product, so there is no offline delivery worker. Spending you already have, target edits, imported history and preference changes set a quiet baseline. Each threshold is recorded once per plan, category and month, so a jump past both sends only the 100% alert. Dropping below a threshold and crossing it again does not repeat the alert. Pending spending, upcoming estimates and past months never trigger one. A zero target alerts only after you spend something. The thresholds are fixed, and an alert changes no targets and promises nothing about affordability.
