Manage settings and learning privacy
Choose your language, appearance, analytics and learning preferences.
Use the profile menu at the bottom of the sidebar to reach Settings.
How to do it
- Open Settings > Preferences to change language and appearance.
- In Preferences, choose Nora Theme 2 for a warm linen canvas, or Nora Theme 3 for cool slate surfaces, white cards and charcoal actions with blue-gray accents. Theme mode is a separate choice: Light, Dark or System.
- Open Connected AI apps above your profile in the dashboard sidebar to review the apps connected to Nora, or open Privacy & Data for the full privacy controls.
- Open Settings > Billing to start the cardless 14-day Nora Plus trial, choose monthly or annual billing, review the current status, update the payment method and open invoices.
- Manual accounts, transactions, budgets and Boards remain free. Bank connection and sync, Nora chat and explanations, AI-generated Boards, AI workbook work through chat, and detailed connected-AI scopes require Nora Plus. A valid trial or active launch grant also grants access. If access is missing, the action stops and Nora offers the Plus prompt; dismissing it keeps free features available. Open Settings > Billing to start or restore access before retrying.
- A complimentary Nora Plus grant also provides Plus access. Settings > Billing shows its expiry or that it continues until revoked, with a $5 USD monthly AI allowance that does not roll over. No card is required for the grant. Existing subscriptions keep billing; the grant does not cancel or refund them. Once the grant expires or is revoked, another valid subscription or launch grant is needed for Plus features; manual features remain free.
- Nora Plus is CAD 9.99, USD 7.99 or EUR 7.49 monthly, or CAD 99.90, USD 79.90 or EUR 74.90 annually. Stripe Checkout chooses an available local currency and shows any final amount before you subscribe.
- In Settings > Billing, choose Manage subscription to switch billing intervals. A monthly-to-annual switch opens Stripe's confirmation page, which shows any prorated amount before you confirm. An annual-to-monthly switch is scheduled for the end of the current billing period.
- After canceling in Stripe, Settings > Billing shows the cancellation date. Nora sends a confirmation notification and email for a newly scheduled cancellation. Access continues until the displayed date; restoring the subscription removes the scheduled cancellation.
- The trial includes a $2 AI allowance. A paid plan includes a $5 AI allowance for each subscription month, including monthly resets on an annual plan. It does not roll over; Billing shows warning, critical and exhausted states at 75%, 90% and 100%.
- To delete your account, first download any export you want to keep. In Settings > Privacy & data, read the retention notice, type DELETE and choose Permanently delete account. Sign in again if requested, then confirm again. Access ends immediately; subscription cancellation and provider cleanup are retried. The request is irreversible. Name/email and usage remain in restricted Admin records for 12 months after deletion completes; trial fingerprints remain while the one-trial policy applies.
- An interrupted AI request can temporarily leave some allowance reserved. Nora retries settlement when it has recorded usage; a request with no known cost needs support review. Support can check whether recovery has run recently; a zero pending count alone does not confirm that recovery is working. Refresh Settings > Billing, and contact support if the reservation remains.
- If a trial pauses because no payment method was added, choose Add a payment method and then Resume subscription. A canceled plan can be restored before its access end date.
- Use the learning controls to reset guides while keeping your milestones, or clear learning progress to remove both the guides and the milestone timestamps.
- When an AI app asks to connect to Nora, read each read-only permission before you allow it. Aggregate insights, account balances and history, and transaction, merchant and category details are separate scopes. An existing aggregate connection never gains detailed access on its own; revoke it and reconnect to approve more. Once connected, an AI app may pick Nora for ordinary questions about your own transactions, accounts, spending or balances without you naming Nora, though the app still decides which tool to use. You can revoke an app later from Privacy & Data. Your export includes active connection details and up to 90 days of content-free tool activity, and never your OAuth credentials or the financial tool requests and their results. Nora may also expose methodology and system-taxonomy reference resources; those hold no user-specific financial data and do not trigger Gemini.
- Read the confirmation before you clear anything. The learning controls never delete financial records.
- Authorized reflects current read-only consent. First financial request completed is recorded separately for ChatGPT and Claude, after Nora processes a financial tool call; an empty result can count. It does not prove that the app delivered an answer. Earlier use is not backfilled. Revoking access removes authorization without erasing this milestone; Clear learning progress removes it without disconnecting apps.
Your learning progress follows your Nora account on every device. Optional analytics is separate, and Nora does not join it to that account.
Having trouble?
- Clearing learning progress does not bring the welcome back. The minimal welcome suppression and the concurrency markers stay in place.
- Nora does not rebuild erased milestones from old data. A new successful action can record a new one.
- Billing lists the CAD, USD and EUR price options and shows the currency returned by Stripe for an existing plan. Taxes are not added during this test-mode slice.
- A failed payment keeps Plus access for a seven-day grace period. After that, paid actions pause until Stripe confirms recovery; manual finance features remain available.
- Billing updates appear after Stripe confirms them. After adding a payment method, resuming a paused trial or recovering a failed payment, refresh Settings > Billing and check the status before retrying a paid action. If the status remains wrong, contact support.
- Account deletion is available in Settings > Privacy & data. If the confirmation is unavailable, contact support. Active-system removal waits at least 16 minutes. Scheduled cleanup and recovery run every two days, so completion can wait until the next run and take longer if a provider fails. Backups and provider-held records follow separate schedules. Contact support@nora-fi.com for help; deleting a connection, an export or learning progress does not delete your account.
- Sharing a Nora link shows a Nora preview card only: the wordmark, product wording and the site address. It never shows your accounts, balances or transactions, and a signed-in page still asks the reader to sign in.
