Connect Claude to Nora

Give Claude read-only access to your Nora financial data through MCP.

A short walkthrough of the current Claude setup flow. Controls are available if you want to pause at any step.

You need a Nora account with connected data and a Claude account that supports connectors. You will sign in to Nora during setup.

How to do it

  1. Open Connectors

In Claude, open Settings and choose Connectors. Your existing connectors are listed there. Choose Add in the top right.

  2. Add the Nora connector

Name the connector Nora and paste the server URL below. Claude detects Sign in now and Use Claude’s published identity — leave both as detected, then choose Add.

  3. Choose Connect

Nora now appears in your connectors, marked as not connected yet. Open it and choose Connect to start the sign-in.

  4. Sign in to Nora

Sign in with the Nora account that holds the data you want to ask about. Continue with Google, or use your email and password.

  5. Allow read-only access

Review the financial information Claude is asking Nora to share, then choose Allow read-only access. Nora cannot change accounts or transactions, and it cannot move money.

  6. Check the tool permissions

Nora shows as connected with its read-only tools listed. Choose when Claude may use them — always allow, ask you each time, or turn individual tools off.

  7. Ask your question

Open a Claude chat and ask about your spending, balances or transactions. Claude can read only data already available in Nora.

  8. Check your setup progress

Authorized reflects current read-only consent. First financial request completed is recorded separately for ChatGPT and Claude, after Nora processes a financial tool call; an empty result can count. It does not prove that the app delivered an answer. Earlier use is not backfilled. Revoking access removes authorization without erasing this milestone; Clear learning progress removes it without disconnecting apps.

Claude keeps Nora in your connector list until you disconnect it. Nora shares only the read-only information covered by your consent. Claude processes prompts and returned data under Anthropic's terms, so check important answers against Nora and your bank.

Having trouble?
  • If Connectors is missing, your Claude plan or workspace may not have MCP connectors enabled. Check Anthropic's current availability for your account.
  • If the sign-in window does not open, allow pop-ups and retry from Claude's connector settings. Confirm the URL is exactly https://mcp.nora-fi.com/mcp.
  • If Claude does not use Nora, open the connector and check that its read-only tools are set to always allow or to ask you each time.
  • If Claude cannot find transactions, open Nora and check that your account connection has finished importing. Claude can only read data already available in Nora.
  • To stop access, disconnect Nora in Claude's connector settings. You can reconnect later and approve a new read-only consent.
